Spyware Solutions

Let's face it.  Spyware is a serious threat to your computer and your personal information.

What makes spyware bad - several reasons:

  1.  Resource Hog - I think most of us have experienced our computers slowing down the longer we use them.  Part of the cause of this slowdown is spyware.  It comes in and hogs system resources that would otherwise be available, and since these programs tend to run hidden in the background, the only thing you notice is that your computer is running slowly.
  2. Invades Privacy - Spyware programs are built with the intention of spying on you.  They look at your files and your web browsing habits trying to detemine what advertisements are most likely to be of interest to you... and those are the innocent ones.  The bad ones...
  3. Steal Your Identity - If a keylogger gets installed on your computer, you're in serious trouble.  Now every keystroke you enter on your keyboard can be transmitted to an unknown third party.  That means you could be sending passwords to bank accounts, credit card information, and even your social security number to thieves looking to steal your identity.

So it makes sense that we should all have spyware protection on any computer hooked up to the Internet.  The real trick is to find spyware solutions that are actually useful.  I know I've personally purchased spyware programs that did more harm than good - programs that slowed my computer down more than the spyware it was supposed to eliminate and even caused my computer to become unstable.

Fortunately, there are a few good spyware programs out there, which is why I built this website... to find the good programs, and to get the word out about the bad ones.
